The LifeMap is a touch-screen digital photo storing and organization product. After tagging photos with people, places, and keywords, the LifeMap organizes the images in a way that users can easily document their lives over time.
The goal of the LifeMap is to create a more meaningful experience for storing, sharing and exploring family photographs. Too many times I have witnessed families who simply pile their photographs into shoeboxes that are shoved underneath beds. These family photos, which are essentially stored memories should be handled with more value and respect. I designed a more meaningful interaction through a large touch screen interface, combined with an interface that allow users to experience their photos in more immersive ways (such as interactive timelines or wolrd maps).

See what people are saying about the LifeMap here.
My early concepts were focused on designing a computer program interface until I realized that by designing the LifeMap as its own product, I can make the user experience more meaningful than it would be as software on the family's PC, which is used for mundane tasks like dealing with spam or doing taxes and other mundane tasks.
The LifeMap is meant to be hung on the wall in the social center of the home. Over time, as the family grows the LifeMap grows with it. As more photos are added and tagged with information, users can view a time line of their lives or a world map marking everywhere they have travelled.

The touchscreen allows for a more intimate interaction with the product. Users can take the LifeMap off the wall and gather around while they explore the information on their laps.
